God leverages our skills, experiences, strengths—and even our weaknesses—to bless others. Discovering how God uniquely wired you can take time. Sometimes He may unexpectedly call you to step into a new gift, or challenge you to grow in an area of current weakness.

However, the clear message of Scripture is that every believer receives a Spiritual Gift intended to be shared.

1 Peter 4:10-11 says: “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.”

From these verses, we learn that God blesses us with abilities specifically so we can serve other people. Spiritual Gifts are not hidden treasures meant to be locked away in a safe; they are intended to be used openly for the common good.

While we get to personally enjoy our gifts, their primary purpose is to bless others. As Jesus said, “It is more blessed to give than receive” (Acts 20:35). Sharing our Spiritual Gifts is the truest way to experience the joy they bring!

When we exercise our Spiritual Gifts, we point others directly back to Jesus. It is crucial to remember that our gifts are not our own—they are graciously given by God. We are simply vessels of His power, equipped to serve others and draw more people into a relationship with Him.
